So you’ve decided to submit to Window Cat Press. That’s great! We accept previously unpublished, unsolicited submissions from new & emerging writers and artists. We're literary omnivores, but you may review our archive for a sense of our collective tastes. Please allow up to six weeks after the deadline for a response.
We welcome the subversive and unexpected.
ZINE GUIDELINES
Please note that only previously unpublished material will be considered for our zine. This means that your piece cannot be previously published on a blog, facebook, tumblr or any other public forum. We read and encourage simultaneous submissions, but please let us know as soon as possible if part or all of your submission is accepted elsewhere. After publication, all rights return to the author. Please cite us if your submission is republished elsewhere. If we have published your work before, please wait one submission period before submitting again.
All submissions should be sent to [email protected]. We will respond to you within 2-3 weeks after the current deadline.
Please label submissions in subject line with "submission-genre." For example, "submission-fiction" or "submission-mixed media"
Please include a cover letter with your name, full contact information, and a short bio.
Feel free to include video attachments, audio, or links to performances of your submission.
For all text submissions, we prefer attachments of PDF or Word documents.
For all audio, we accept AIFF, WAVE (WAV), FLAC, ALAC, OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR, and WMA files less than 5GB.

We accept both original work and reposts for our tumblr. Currently, we are interested in submissions of:

- Poetry, Spoken Word/Slam, Found Poetry—two pages or less per poem; any form or topic is welcome; 3-5 poems.
- Prose, Fiction, Flash-Fiction, Prosetry—less than 2,000 words.
- Creative and Narrative Non-Fiction—less than 2,000 words
- Plays, Dramatic Works, Scripts—no more than 7 pages
- Photography/Visual Art—we accept any two dimensional medium; each piece must be less than 10MB and in JPEG format.
- Mixed-Media, Multi-Genre—do you write satirical sketches? sew poetic quilts? show us! no more than 7 pages.
- Collaboration Pieces—multi-author/artists pieces accepted with clear recognition and contact info for all participating artists.
- Translation— please obtain permission from the author before submitting, and send verification with a copy of the original text.

- Visual Poems—original, one page, less than 100 words preferred
- Audio/Video—original performances or readings, less than 5 minutes long preferred
